In 1-day coating systems, polyurea-polyaspartic coatings are used as both the direct-to-concrete primer coat and the single clear top coat. These coatings cure very rapidly. Hence, this allows for the “1 -day” promise. However, polyurea-polyaspartics have an major Achilles heel. When applied to concrete with medium to high levels of moisture, these fast-curing coatings cure even faster! In well less than 1 hour.

The result? There is insufficient time for proper penetration and bonding with the concrete substrate.
